Note: The video and instructions below discuss how to setup for in-person gatherings. However, with many events moved online, the instructions are different for integrating with a Zoom call! Please reference this tutorial for displaying captions and subtitles in Zoom. Also, visit this tutorial for instructions on audio loopback.

In-Venue Requirements

  1. Reliable internet connection (wired ethernet connection HIGHLY recommended. Minimum 1 Mbps download and upload speed)
  2. Microphone audio connection from venue’s soundboard
  3. Laptop running Google Chrome


  1. Setup laptop with reliable internet connection (wired ethernet connection recommended)
  2. Connect microphone audio from soundboard with computer running and configure computer so the soundboard is the selected microphone input
  3. Decide how the audience members will access captioning/translation
    1. If on mobile – share the audience URL with the audience (i.e.
    2. If with a projector –¬†setup the laptop with a projector so the audience can see captions/translation on the screen
